Week Forty-seven…Christmas in Heaven

Image
We learned this week that whenever we are with family it feels like heaven…at least we think that’s what heaven will feel like. We started the week with a great mission devotional where Matt Grow, the Managing Director of the Church History Department, spoke to us about Focusing on Christ. We learned from him how every project they are doing has been tweaked to more fully focus on Christ. At Nauvoo they are building a new visitor’s center and they are going to have these windows that focus your view on the temple instead of a view of all the buildings and homes down closer to the river that have previously been the focal point. The temple is all about Christ. We learned that they found a stained glass window of Christ being sold at an auction and how the Church was able to purchase it even though they had a budget limit. They originally thought that it would be the main focal point and they would have historic pictures of Nauvoo on the walls, but instead they were prompted to have this...

Week Forty-six…Scored Some Last Minute Tix!

We learned some great things this week. Here’s some of them… We headed into the library Monday morning and it was about the same as it has been… slow. I worked on French training and Mom on last minute plans for the Christmas social. Then in the afternoon I was asked to help this young couple with their Family Tree  in Kazakhstan. I’m sure you remember me mentioning that I didn’t bring my Christmas socks with me, so I decided to order some. I like! They are fun colors and designs and fit well. Wahoo! So I put some on and we headed off to the Mission Devotional, which was put on by the Elijah Ch...

Week Forty-five…Ended With a Drive

Another week gone by way too fast. Here’s what we learned this week… Monday was the first day of missing our workout in the COB, which led to missing for the whole week. Ugh. Not how I wanted it to go this week, but that’s life and I’m sure this next week will be better. We got into the library and of course it was slow. I had a meeting at 10am and then was supposed to sub for someone on Memory Lane at 11am. But when I got into the video conference for the meeting I learned that there was only one other person there. It was Sister Haertel who supervises the Escape Room, so we chatted about the latest with that and then realized that nobody else was joining. So we looked at our meeting invite and realized it had been postponed until 10:30am. So we logged off and came back on at 10:30am, but that made the meeting end later so I got up to Memory Lane late, but that ended up ok since they really didn’t need any more help. So I finished my stint there and headed back down to our floor. Not ...
