Week Seventy-four…Acting That Our Fans Can Adore.

This week had a few different twists in it. Here’s what we learned… Monday began with our new Mission Presidency introducing themselves. The Browns, who we already know, started off. They actually told us a lot of stuff about their history. They were followed up by a video of the Howes, because they are still in Australia waiting for a visa to come through. They hope to be here by July 18th. The Cravens ended the devotional. We learned that Sister Craven is really short. I noticed when I met President Craven a few weeks ago that he wasn’t a tall man, but seeing him standing next to his wife you’d think he was. After the devotional we went to the library. We are still what I would call consistently busy. It’s not like we are slammed and overwhelmed, but we have at least 6 or 7 or more guests that we are serving on our floor on a consistent basis, as well as helping out on other floors. In the afternoon I was asked to help a guest with Netherlands research. She was a young middle school ...

Week Seventy-three…Lot is Officially Split…Finally!

We had some wonderful milestones this week and here’s what we learned from them… Monday Mom was flying home from Vegas, so I got up and went to the gym and then into the library at 8:30. We were pretty quiet in the morning and I just helped a couple of people with some simple things, then headed off to a 10am meeting. The lunch is around the 15th of the month so they send it for all missionaries who will be completing before that date in the next month. I sometimes don’t have replies back from missionaries until just before their release date. I am going to need to start earlier with the process of contacting them and finding out their desires. Anyway, I was able to go to the COB for lunc...

Happy Father’s Day to all of the great fathers in our family. Thanks for making that a priority in your lives. Here’s how this week went for us… Monday started with a walk for Mom and me going to the gym. Then it was off to the regular Mission Devotional. This week our new Church History Museum Zone presented. All of the presenters were staff members, no missionaries, but we learned some fun stuff about how they acquire and preserve and present and store the different artifacts in the library. As you can see in this picture they have over 280 what used to be called docents  and now called missionaries. We learned that many of them only work one day a week for four hours, but now that they are Church Service missionaries that will change, as CSM are required to work a minimum of 8 hours per week and the usual standard is 16 hours per week. After the devotional we went to the library where there wasn’t a whole lot of meetings or anything we needed to do, but we were busy just the sam...
